Foundation Crack Repair: Our Process Versus the Injection Method

If the cracks in your foundation walls do not pose a structural threat, but leak water, or you want to prevent water from entering through the crack, there are two main methods to repair. Our FlexiSpan® Foundation Crack Repair System or the injection method.

Our patented and warrantied FlexiSpan® Foundation Crack Repair System uses a special polyurethane material, which unlike hydraulic cements and some epoxies, will never dry out or re-crack due to the natural movement of the foundation wall over long periods of time.

The polyurethane in Flexispan® adheres, bends and stretches with future foundation movement or as the crack widens. Injectors, such as hydraulic cements, epoxies, and even urethane injections are not able to bend and stretch along with your foundation movement. As concrete walls expand and shrink through the freeze/thaw and wet/dry cycles we experience in southwestern Ontario, the bonds of these injection materials will fail, leading to re-cracking or new cracks forming farther on down the wall. As this occurs, the leaking will begin anew!
