A Chatham company is doing its part to help improve unemployment numbers in Ontario, which currently stand at 7.4%.
"We received so many responses to our billboard ad for the part-time receptionist that we had to take it down,'' said Benjamin Bates, Advanced Basement Systems' director of marketing.
Bates said Friday the company interviewed approximately half of the more than 20 applicants for the part-time receptionist position.
"We have one or two more positions available right now with the company,'' he said. "We are always looking for good, hard-working people. We are always willing to give people a shot.''
Bates noted the 30-employee company has also taken on a new mascot - a beaver - to be the face of the company and is calling on the public to come up with a name by April 30 by visiting www.facebook.com/basementy.
