Opening the Foundation
Martin, our skilled mason, starts to cut and carefully chisel out what will be the second entry point into the crawl space.
Access Open
The access is now ready for bracing.
Access 90% Complete
The access is now ready for a door to be installed. Notice how the new bricking along the edge of the access is set back a touch. This will allow the door to be flush with the wall, stopping water from getting in.
Failing Floor Joist
This joist was not installed correctly. Consequently the floor above has a serious dip in it.
Old Foundation
The foundation is in fine shape but some of the wood is not. This space will need encapsulating with Clean Space and spray foam.
Rotted Sill Plate
The sill plate is rotting due to the open dirt floor under it as well as poorly placed eaves troughs down spouts.
