Water damaged crawl space
Water was entering this crawl space for years. The dirt floor was muddy and the humidity levels were much higher than healthy.
Poor supports and excessive humidity
The supports in this crawl space were "rigged" and shimmed in the past. As water entered the crawl space, the area beneath the supports began to sink, causing sloping floors, gaps and difficult to open doors and windows. Because of the unencapsulated and excessively damp space, the fibreglass insulation soaked in the moisture, becoming heavy, ineffective and falling away from the crawl space ceiling.
Poorly sealed access door
Gaps between the wall and the crawl space access door allowed not only insects and small critters to enter, but also rain, and the outside air - be it cold, hot or humid.
Well supported, clean, healthy, dry and insulated
Our team removed the debris and fibreglass insulation. We determined the areas where steel jacks were necessary to properly support the home above. We completely encapsulated the crawl space with our heavy duty liner after improving the drainage below. Our team finished off the job by sealing the new barrier with spray foam insulation.
