Stabilizing a Failing Foundation in Pain Court ON
Challenge
The foundation was failing in this Kent County home, easily evidenced by the horizontal crack and inward bowing of a wall in their basement. Further, these homeowners were experiencing water intrusion on two exterior walls.
The continuing structural instability could potentially render this home inhabitable, additionally, the family could not enjoy their downstairs space due to the leaky basement wall.
Solution
Our team installed the GeoLock® Wall Anchor system, which are specifically designed to help with inward buckling and any future wall movement. Made of galvanized steel, these anchors are stabilized to the hard-packed soil beyond the foundation walls.
Once the wall anchor system was in place and appropriately tightened, our team waterproofed the leaky wall. The homeowners can now enjoy their structurally sound and dry home!
