Problem: Although this home is rather new, the homeowners were experiencing water penetration in the basement. The sump pump system installed by the builder was open, allowing potential debris in the pit and allowing unwanted moisture in the home.
Solution: We are the experts in “All Things Basementy” and had this home’s water issues remedied within days. We installed a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System and pit liner as well as an inspection port. We waterproofed the basement’s problem areas and improved the drainage.

The air from the basement will travel up into the living levels of a home as pressure changes. The air that has moved will require replacement as the pressure from inside the lower level becomes less than the outside. Radon Gas will migrate into the basement through any opening to the soil during the pressure change.
The opening could be in the form of cracks in the floor or wall, open sump pits or improperly sealed pipe pass throughs.
Advanced Basement Systems will design a system to include sealing the openings, reduce the gas trying to enter the home and provide a safe environment to live in. We service homeowners in Chatham, London, Windsor, Sarnia and all areas in between.
Get your home tested and if the results require mitigation, call Advanced Basement Systems to protect you and your loved ones!
Problem: This home had a crawl space that was damp and musty. This undesirable crawl space air makes its way throughout the entire house in what’s known as the Stack Effect. The moist environment caused the fiberglass insulation to become ineffectual and saturated with water. These homeowners also needed some help with debris removal.
Solution: We encapsulated the damp dirt floor with our heavy duty CleanSpace crawl space vapour barrier liner (strong enough to walk on and store items upon!). Our team also added mould and mildew proof SprayFoam Insulation (inorganic; therefore, mould and mildew resistant) to help the home be more energy efficient.

Problem: These homeowners were experiencing a problem prevalent in homes that have an open dirt floor crawl space:
- High humidity, resulting in a musty smelling home
- Cold floors in the winter
- High heating and cooling bills as they were continually heating and cooling the outdoor air which was making its way into the crawl space.
Solution: We sealed off the crawl space, encapsulating it with our Clean Space® Vapour Barrier, including the support columns. We sealed the exterior vents and added Spray Foam Insulation to the exterior walls.

Problem: Cold floors, rotting wood and mold were issues in this home. Outside moisture getting in was the cause.
Solution: Now that the CleanSpace liner has been installed the house is isolated from the earth, which creates a healthy, dry enviroment.
